Since moving to Portland I've been fascinated by Mt. Hood.  At over 11,000 feet, Wy'east (the mountain's original name), stands majestically looking over the region.

Last weekend, I continued the trend of exploring new places and trying new things in the PNW.  This time it was heading up to San Juan Island in Washington, to check out the orcas.

Hawaii: One of those places that instantly conjures up distinct images for almost everyone.  Whether you think tikis and hula dancers or big wave surfing and bronzing on the beach it doesn’t matter. 

Remember that sometimes you just have to take the long way getting places.  You never know what you might see and it's just plain fun.

Now that the turkey and stuffing are done digesting it's time for TurkeyTrot Cross.

Every sporting event has it's legendary venues and events.  Typically, these are legendary for their importance, scenery and difficulty. 

While I love black and white photos I do, reluctantly, venture into the world of color from time to time.  My take on sunset photography.

So, with camera in hand, I headed out the front door to see what I could see.  As usual venice didn't disappoint and I found a little bit of everything from street scenes, to skateboarders catching air, to cliche sunsets and even something that made me think of the Bates Motel.

As the days get shorter and the bite of the summer heat starts to lessen the smell of cyclocross is in the air.

Tales of a horseback adventure through the Hollywood hills.

"I want to go see a crit."  Not something you would normally hear me say.  Hanging out in an industrial park with a bunch of agro uptight dudes riding in circles, wearing lycra isn't normally the pinnacle of excitement.  This is where Wolfpack Hustle comes in.

Over the 4th of July weekend a few of us decided that it would be a good idea to climb Mount St. Helens on our bikes.

Sometimes we get in a rut and do the same things over and over.  For the past few weeks Heather and I have tried to do something different on at least one day during the weekend.  Last weekend we headed up to Ojai for a sunset horseback ride. 

Despite the t-shirts with "Keep Austin Weird" on them, Austin is a bastion of normal in an otherwise crazy state. 

I went through a skateboarding phase as a kid in Florida and was obsessed with watching Bones Brigade skate videos.

 Earlier this year we were talking with some friends and hatched this wild idea to go to Italy to watch the Cycling World Championships in Florence.  This somewhat joking idea turned into a full-fledged vacation with multiple cities, planned stops as well as some delightful unplanned surprises.  We took off with a hole in the middle of the trip where we were going to "just look for a place in Tuscany" as we drive from Cinque Terre to Rome.
