Sunset Ranch Hollywood
So when people think of Hollywood they think of traffic, movies, fast cars and silicon boobs. Well, maybe that last one is just me. Believe it or not Los Angeles sports one of the largest public parks in the country, Griffith Park. At 4,218 acres it has over 50 miles of trails, with almost all of them open to horses and hikers.
Impressed with this new information, we decided to leave the west side this weekend and take our nieces on a horseback ride through the Hollywood hills. Sunset Ranch Hollywood offers 2hr and 1hr tours with BBQ dinners for the sunset rides. We opted for the longer ride and food.
The ride was slightly dusty but offered spectacular views of the city and Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory and downtown Los Angeles. You can even see into the "Valley" — but who wants to see that.
Los Angeles is so large and diverse that there is something new to do every weekend if you are just willing to brave the traffic.
