2 Weeks in Hawaii
Hawaii: One of those places that instantly conjures up distinct images for almost everyone. Whether you think tikis and hula dancers or big wave surfing and bronzing on the beach it doesn’t matter. For me, it’s more the tikis and kitschy 50’s Hawaii, from the movies and TV, that comes to mind. But in reality I love the outdoor lifestyle and everything that comes with it. Hawaii is one of those magical places that never get old for me. My wife and I were lucky enough to go back to Hawaii, Maui and Big Island specifically, recently.
Even though we’ve been to Hawaii several times, we managed to find new things to do along with some that we wanted to do again. A few of the things were very touristy but we still had a blast. Actually, almost everything we did was touristy, but hey, we’re tourists.
Some of the highlights were hiking to Twin Falls during a pouring rain storm, taking a helicopter ride (without doors) over flowing lava, and riding ATVs along the rim of Waipi’o Valley and stopping for a swim in an ancient pool with a waterfall where kings swam.
I took a ton of pictures on the trip, but I know that no one wants to sift through them all. So I’ve done my best to pick the highlights of our two-week trip. Please take a look at the pictures below, a two-week Hawaiian vacation in 14 photos. If you like these you can see a few more in the Hawaii Gallery.
